Be sure your parish celebrates Priesthood Sunday on Sunday, October 25!
“Priesthood Sunday” is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church. This annual nationwide event is coordinated and sponsored by the USA Council of Serra International. Especially during this Year of the Priest, we should all remember our priests in a special way on this day designated for doing so.

Our archdiocesan newspaper, The Pilot, will again this year be accepting ads honoring priests whom the faithful would like to remember on this special occasion.
For more information, contact Larry Ricardo at the Pilot by e-mail: advertising@thebostonpilot.com or call him at (617) 746-5835.
Be sure “your” priests are included in this special Pilot edition!

The LA Times recently printed an article on the need for a second official miracle to be attributed to Bl. Junipero Serra before being canonized. One possibility is a 66-year-old Panamanian artist who is still alive after losing a third of her skull to 14 surgeries for a brain tumor.

Cardinal Sean posted a blog about the recent chartering ceremony for the Serra Club of Boston:
On Friday, there was a Mass at St. John’s Seminary and a dinner to charter a new Serra Club for Boston.
We are hoping that promotion of priestly vocations and vocation recruitment will be a very important part of the Year for Priests.
Serra Club takes its name from Blessed Junipero Serra, a Franciscan priest who founded a number of California missions in the 18th century.
I have always had a special spot in my heart for them. My dad joined Serra in 1960 and was a very active member his whole life.
The first president of the Boston club is Loretta Gallagher, who worked very closely with our Director of Vocations, Father Dan Hennessey on establishing the new chapter.
