ZENIT reports that the U.S. Bishops have named Fr. Shawn McKnight of Wichita, Kansas to lead its Secretariat for Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations”
“Father McKnight brings extraordinary background to the position,” Monsignor David Malloy, general-secretary of the episcopal conference, said. “In addition to parish work, his experience includes years in seminary formation, education of deacons, college chaplaincy and membership on his diocesan presbyteral council. I am grateful that Bishop Michael Jackels of Wichita is permitting him to serve the U.S. bishops in this national position.”

Be sure your parish celebrates Priesthood Sunday on Sunday, October 25!
“Priesthood Sunday” is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church. This annual nationwide event is coordinated and sponsored by the USA Council of Serra International. Especially during this Year of the Priest, we should all remember our priests in a special way on this day designated for doing so.
